1860's Historical house will be getting a facelift
If you have ever driven on NW Cornell road you would have driven past the 1860 JQA Young House now owned by Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District. It was originally a post office then many different families' lived there and most recently homeless and squatters occupied the dwelling. In 2014 a $50,000 grant was received for restorations of the house and the property.

Limited housing = Increased homelessness
As affordable housing becomes less and less the homeless population becomes more and more. In 2018 the U.S. saw a .3% increase in homelessness. The majority of the population lives in New York or Los Angeles because rent has risen 20-35% since 2012 if you can believe it!

The market is starting to cool down as winter approaches.
Mortgage rates are predicted to continue to rise as high as 5.5% in 2019. Thus giving buyers more negotiating power while sellers will need to make more compromises. This will lead to less inventory on the market and more demand for entry level housing.

Real Estate in Portland and Washington are on the rise. Here is a list of the hottest areas currently. Battle Ground WA has seen the highest percent increase of 25.4% since last year and North Aloha has seen the least percent increase of 9% since last year.
